NBA vs. China: The Billion-Dollar Tweet

As we get ready to kick off the NBA season on October 22, there is an ongoing controversy, drawing attention away from the actual game and its great players: a social media post. A since-deleted tweet by Houston Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey read “Fight for Freedom. Stand with Hong Kong.” This tweet in support of the pro-democracy protests in Hong Kong has caused China to lash out at the NBA.

Arian Foster is a former Pro Bowl NFL running back for the Houston Texans and Miami Dolphins. Since retirement from the NFL, Arian has ventured into entertainment. He has a successful podcast entitled “Now What? With Arian Foster.” Foster always had a love for making music and recently released a hip hop album. The name of the album is “Flamingo & Koval” which is the intersection of the two streets in Las Vegas where Tupac Shakur was murdered. His hip hop stage name is “Bobby Feeno” which was inspired by Bobby McFerrin (Don’t Worry, Be Happy).
