Artist of the Week: Lloyd Cole

When anyone asks me who's my favorite artist, the answer is always Lloyd Cole. I was in high school when he fronted the Commotions, turning out indie hits like Perfect Skin that paired smart, irony-laced writing with catchy tunes. And he was cute. I was smitten. In the 90s, when I was still a giggly twenty-something fangirl, I was lucky enough to see him at the (old) 9:30 Club in D.C. and meet him after the show.

Better UX at Every Step

Whether it’s a weird online sign-up process or an incomprehensible set of instructions to put together a piece of furniture, we all know what it’s like when the creator of an experience hasn’t thought through every single step, hasn’t communicated it correctly or just flat out has it wrong. It’s frustrating, confusing and at least personally, makes me think less of the brand. That’s why spending time to craft every consumer touchpoint throughout your experience is so important.

How Online Retailers Can Win Big by Adding A Personal Touch

We’ve written recently about how brick-and-mortar retailers are working hard at creating great customer experiences in order to compete with the convenience of Amazon. But I’ve also noticed recently that online retailers also seem to be working harder to create personal connections with their customers in an effort to bridge digital and physical experiences and cement brand loyalty. Both of the examples below show the impact a personal touch can make.

Un-Super Bowl Recap, Tribe Style

Let's face it. Super Bowl LIII kinda sucked. Unless you're a Pats fan (duh) or a music fan (no, I don't mean the halftime show), there wasn't much that was great. Even this year's ads have been widely panned as totally unspecial across the board. But with the Big Game in the ATL, our tribe (especially Yalo South) still scored a bunch of memorable moments. Let’s break it down.

For Yalo South, the upcoming week is a big one! With Super Bowl LIII coming to town, Atlanta is looking forward to not only hosting the big game, but also an entire week of events that will showcase our city and the talents of many of our hometown musicians and artists. And we plan to take part in at least some of the festivities.
